This is one of the activities we did to practice our -ate family words.
The kids had a stack of cards with a word written on each one. If it was in the -ate family, they put it on their paper plate. If it wasn't, they put it in the discard pile. After they were done sorting their cards, they wrote their -ate words on their plate with a marker.
