Number Writing Practice with Dr. Jean!

LOVE Dr. Jean! We did a fun activity using this song the other day. We listened to this song and followed along with white board markers to practice writing our numbers. And the best part was.....

THEY GOT TO WRITE ON THEIR DESKS!!

You should have seen their jaws drop when I told them! The white board markers erases right off of our desks so I often opt to do that instead of get out white boards. Saves time, and they love it!

Good morning! I had a few people contact me and ask if I was going to make I Can statements for the 1st grade math core. I have them all finished and they are up at my TPT store! They are only $1.50 and while you are there, you can grab the ELA ones for free!

Today is our 1st day back to school! The kiddos don't come until Tuesday though. I'm posting this between meetings so I'm going to skedaddle so I'm not late to my next meeting!

I Can Statements....FINISHED!

Do you ever have nights where you just aren't tired?

Tonight has been one of those nights. Which is why it is 5 in the AM and I am STILL awake! Perhaps it's because I've had a lot of Dr. Pepper tonight. Or maybe it's because I took a nap this evening. Or it could be that I have way to much fun watching movies and hanging out with my awesome husband.

At any rate, I'm not complaining about it. I LOVE to stay up late! Even during the school year I try to stay up as late as I can on the weekends. It's my way of rebelling against having to get up early during the week :)

Amongst all of the movies and caffeine, I have actually done something productive. Hard to believe, isn't it?

Well, believe it, because I am finished typing up all of the I Can Statements for the 1st grade ELA Common Core!! Whoop Whoop! You can click HERE or click the picture below to grab them at my TPT store.

I Can Statements and an Award!!

Are you all teaching the Common Core this year? We are implementing the literacy core and I am N-E-R-V-O-U-S!! I feel like a first year teacher all over again!! Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for the new core--I think it will be great! I just don't feel as 'put together' as I would like. Luckily I have an amazing 1st grade team and I have all of these wonderful teacher blogs to turn to for some brilliant ideas and inspiration! :)
